The Vacancy
As an Effluent Plant Technician at Charlie Bigham's, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of our effluent treatment plant. You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting our effluent treatment processes to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and our commitment to sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and operate the effluent treatment plant equipment.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal plant performance.
- Conduct chemical and biological tests on effluent samples to assess water quality and treatment effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of plant operations and effluent data.
- Assist in the development and implementation of environmental management plans.
- Collaborate with the broader team to identify opportunities for process improvements and resource efficiency.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Previous experience in wastewater treatment or a related field.
- Knowledge of effluent treatment processes and equipment.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
